IMPORTANT Announcement (Please Read) | Update for Durga Pujo 2023
As the summer warmth is fading into the crisp fall air, the winds of change are reverberating in our Durga Pujo 2023. With only a month to go for our biggest event of the year, we are elated to make an important announcement.
Over the past years, your association and participation have been an indispensable element towards orchestrating a complex event like this. We work tirelessly to bring about the quintessential features of Kolkata style Durga Pujo – bhog, adda, pandal, aarati, etc. Also, we truly appreciate your feedback around accommodating persons with special needs and ensuring appropriate arrangements for a sit-down meal. This year, in the spirit of continuous evolution, and to include much awaited new features in production, without sacrificing the most cherished flavors, we are excited to announce a change in location for this year’s Pujo. This year, we will hold the gala celebrations in John Alden Club at 16 Minuteman Ln, Plymouth, MA.
Key features of our new location outlined below:
- Private secluded location (over 10,000 sq. ft. of space) with ample parking
- Heated pandal with old-Kolkata style theme
- Large heated indoor sitting area for bhog distribution and consumption, with optional beverage station
- Revamped platform for showcasing your art, craft and other talents
- Outdoor activities (e.g., Beach Volleyball, Frisbee, Cricket, Badminton) for children (at heart!)
- Safe space for aarti, dhunuchi naach, sindur khela, dandiya, and impromptu dance breaks
- Imitation of a typical Fall Retreat (some may call it the Durga Puja Retreat)
Thanks to all who have already registered; for others, we ardently request you to please register on our website for the days on which you are confirmed to visit. This allows us to ensure a wholesome experience for each of you.
Several aspects of Durga Puja, such as logistics, decorations, event lineup, puja details, bhog preparation, etc., need to be scrupulously planned and executed. To that end, we request you to please reach out to us via our website or directly via email, if you are willing and able to volunteer and share your talents and effort with us.
Lastly, we truly appreciate the generous support and all the love that you have bestowed upon us over the past years. As you may know, this is a Non-Ticketed event, and is solely dependent on your donation/sponsorship. Every little bit counts to meet our costs to bring this five day grand celebration to you.
To that end, we hope that you are excited to see us in person for the Puja – we are equally eager to bring to you a ‘bigger and better’ celebration in our 12th year! Please do not hesitate to reach out directly should you have any questions or comments.
